NEW DATE!!!!!
PINEWOOD DERBY  April 13, 2015

PLEASE SEE EMAIL SENT OUT MARCH 30th From Avril
I hope everyone is getting excited about the PINEWOOD DERBY!!!!  The planning committee has worked hard to plan another great event for you.  Below are the details:

For New Fathers and Mothers. Don't be alarmed, but that block of wood from Santa is to be cut into a car!? Yeah! Work with your den leaders for pointers and your cub scouts to make a running wooden car.  Use most of the time between now and race time to let your boy do some of the work with you so he knows he worked on his car. There is plenty of information through out the internet. If you need materials go to Jo- Ann Fabrics. The one in Westminster, MD was a hot little find for one dad an two of his scouts. This not the only place, Nut this father found it useful. There are a number of attached files for reference and to see what previous cars looked like

Details to meeting locations will follow when they are available.
It will be held in the Community Life Center (same place as Blue and Gold)
Pizza with veggies and dip will be served for dinner

Cost of the pizza details will follow when they become available.
Cost: $5 per family (collected by Den Leaders)

Schedule of events:
Dens begin arriving at 5:10p, beginning with the Web2s:
5:10p – Den 3
5:20p – Den 7
5:30p – Den 2
5:40p – Den 4
5:50p – Den 1

7:00p - Intermission – Pizza with veggies and dip
7:15p - Outlaw races take place
7:30p - 2nd Race beings
8:15p - Awards

As each Den arrives, they will be directed to the tune up area for any last minute modifications/weigh checks.  Then they will be sent to the Starting Gate where they will be inspected (both car and uniform), registered, weighed in, given their license, and have their car placed on the display.  At that time the scout should go over to their area (snacks will be provided) and parents should find a seat.

**Important**  Once your scout's car has been registered, they may NOT touch it again until the races are over.

Proper dress is required to register your car! - Scouts need to wear Class A uniforms with hats. (Shirts tucked in please)

For those participating in the Outlaw Race (this is where the parents and leaders race their own cars against each other), I have attached the rules you need to follow.

If you have any questions, please drop Foster Lewis, Eric Grosh, Steve ZumBrunnen, or Brian Scherer, a line.
