Just a few reminders about some exciting upcoming events:
- Klondike Derby headcount and registration fees are due to your den leader by Monday 12/12/11. We will register for this event as a Pack at the 12/13 Roundtable Meeting, so we need to know the number of scouts and family members who will be attending. The Pack will pay registration fees for all scouts and registered leaders, but the cost for other family members is $4 per person. Remember, Tiger scouts are required to be accompanied by an adult family member. Here is a link to the Klondike Derby information on the Carroll District website: http://bsacarroll.org/events/klondike_derby . The main event for Cub Scouts will be held on Saturday 1/28 at Freedom Park. This is an all-day outdoor event, so please note attached clothing requirements. Boy Scouts and Webelos are allowed to camp from Friday 1/27 through Sunday 1/29. Additional details will be provided at upcoming den and pack meetings. Please let me know if you have any questions.
- December Pack Meeting and train garden visit will be held on Friday 12/16/11 at 6:30PM. We will start the meeting at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church (room location to be determined). After our traditional opening, announcements, and awards, the boys will work on a holiday ornament craft and have some snacks. Then, we will take a short trip down Rt. 32 to visit the train garden at the West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department. The boys will be dismissed from the meeting at the fire station (i.e., we will not return to the church as a group). Please consult with your leaders about den meeting schedules for last 2 weeks of December.
- Pinewood Derby will be held on Friday 1/20/12 at 6:30PM in the Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church Community Living Center (CLC). The boys will be receiving their car kits soon, and we are trying to arrange a cut-out event at Brian Arndt's (Webelos II den leader) workshop sometime in late December or early January. More details to come.
That's it for now. See you all at the Pack Meeting on Friday 12/16/11! |
